Statutory audit & controls

Statutory audit

A statutory audit gives third parties and shareholders independent assurance on the reliability of the financial statements. The firm's founder is registered with the Register of Statutory Auditors: we handle the engagement from planning the audit through to the final report, in line with auditing standards.

What's included

  • Audit planning based on the company's risk and size
  • Review of internal control systems and administrative procedures
  • Sample testing on financial statement items and significant transactions
  • Verification that bookkeeping has been properly maintained throughout the year
  • Preparation of the audit report on the annual financial statements
  • Coordination with the board of directors and, where present, the board of statutory auditors

When it makes sense

  • The company has exceeded the thresholds that make statutory audit mandatory
  • Shareholders or lenders are asking for an audit even without a legal requirement
  • The current board of statutory auditors does not also carry out the statutory audit

What we need to start

  • Access to accounting records, financial statements and corporate books
  • An organisation chart and a description of the administrative procedures in use
